About the Company
John and Chris Scott, a father-son duo, founded The Morton Scott Pub Company in 2003. Driven by their extensive hospitality experience across the globe, they thought it was time to put this passion to good use.
The White Hart was the first pub for The Morton Scott Pub Company and with the help of family members, friends, long hours and hard work, Chris and John transformed The White Hart into a thriving business. On the back of this success, within 12 months the second pub was added, Walkers of Whitehall, located between Trafalgar Square and Downing Street. Walkers was later sold on in 2016.
In June 2007, they added The Marquis to the portfolio after it had been closed for nearly two years. With significant investment, The Marquis became a standout success, earning recognition as one of the Top 10 pubs in London by TripAdvisor for the last two years.
The company continued to grow with the addition of The Sun Tavern on Long Acre in 2011, and most recently, The George on Great Queen Street in 2024.
Each pub in the Morton Scott group has its own unique personality and our Managers are encouraged to inject their own flair and creativity. Chris and John are passionate about the business and are strong believers in the institution that is the Great British Pub.
“We feel very fortunate to have 4 fantastic pubs all located in such an iconic part of the world as Covent Garden. All geographically within a 15min walk. We have our very own pub crawl. London is not so much a big city, rather many small villages joined together. We want to be the best pub in the village”.
